History is Being Made, Be a Part of It...

The 2009 USA Hockey National Championships will most likely be the last of its kind, and you still have an opportunity to be involved in it.   Beginning in 2010, the USA Hockey Youth Tier II National Championships will expand from the current 12 teams representing each District to as many as 50 teams representing each State at the (U12, U14, U16 and U18) age levels.

The 2009 National Championships will be the last time there will be only one (1) National Champion at each of the Tier II age levels.  Beginning in 2010, USA Hockey will crown four (4) Youth Tier II National Champions at each age level (one in each of four newly created conferences) for a total of (16) National Champions.

Alliance Seeks Volunteers for 2009 Nationals…

When the official hosts and sites for the 2009 USA Hockey National Championships were announced last fall by USA Hockey, the Alliance Youth Hockey Association was selected to host the 14 & Under Bantam Tier I and Tier II Championships in Frisco, Texas April 1-5, 2009.

Alliance would like to provide opportunities to be involved not only to Alliance players, coaches, and families, we would also like to see that every youth hockey association in the DFW metroplex be represented on the volunteer staff as well. The benefits of hosting this event extend not only to the host association and its participating teams, but also to the other local associations and the community at large.

With that in mind, Alliance needs to know about those that would be interested in volunteering to help. Indicated at the top of the page is a contact point to email if you are interested in some of the volunteer opportunities associated with the event. More information about other opportunities to volunteer will be posted here as that information becomes available, and as we move closer to the date of the Championships.

For each tier (I & II), 12 teams (Eleven District Champions along with a host team) will gather in Frisco to determine a National Champion for the 14&Under Bantam Division.  A total of 24 teams from all across the United States will be participating in the championships at the Dr. Pepper StarCenter Frisco.

If you have ever been involved in the hosting of an event such as this, you are aware of the benefits on a personal level, the satisfaction in being part of a fun and prestigious event, as well as the opportunity to develop memories not routinely available to just anyone.
