What’s online registration?


Online registration provides Individual Member Registration directly with USA Hockey from a remote location, such as home, ice arena, etc. via internet connection to www.usahockeyregistration.com. The USA Hockey Waiver will be completed, and USA Hockey and Affiliate fees paid online with a credit card.

Alliance Players will print out the confirmation receipt and forward their confirming email from USA Hockey to the Alliance registrar at registrar@alliancehockey.org to complete the registration process. If you have any questions, you can also email the Alliance registrar at the same address indicated above. Online registration is also available for Coaches and Officials.

Why online registration for USA Hockey?

First, to reduce the workload of volunteers – they will no longer need to collect USA Hockey fees and Affiliate fees, request and receive checks, reconcile fees paid, collect and retain signed waivers, create disks, print reports to go with disks, and make trips to the post office.

Second, online registration will ensure accurate, efficient, and direct communication with our members. Many members don’t know about USA Hockey…by registering directly, we have the opportunity to inform them of the organization – and to collect accurate e-mail and mailing addresses. It will also provide immediate verification of registration and receipt of payment for the member.

How’s it going to work?

Online registration is the only way to register and Alliance requires our players register online.

When will online registration be available?

Online registration for the 2008-2009 season is now available. Alliance is requiring all players to register on-line no later than midnight August 1st.   We have skating sessions coming up in early August and need all players and coaches registered by that time.

What about Coach registration?

In order to keep the online registration process as simple as possible, individuals do not select a member type for online registration.  Everyone (over the age of 6) will pay the USA Hockey registration fee of $30, plus a Texas Amateur Hockey Association (TAHA) affiliate fee of $6.00 for a TOTAL cost of $36.00. Alliance coaches are required to register online and then request reimbursement from Alliance.

What if someone comes with a confirmation page and we can’t accommodate them in our program?

Just because someone has a confirmation page and has paid their USA Hockey and Affiliate fees does NOT obligate Alliance to take them into our program. This will be made clear on the online registration screens.  And, this statement will be printed in bold on the confirmation page:

“This confirms that you have paid your USA Hockey and Affiliate fee for the 2008-09 season. Take this confirmation page to the local program(s) that you are participating with so that they can complete your registration. This receipt does NOT guarantee you membership in any local program or placement on a team.”

What if someone wants a refund?

There is a statement that appears on the online registration screen that says:

“I understand that USA Hockey has a no-refund policy”

– the registrant must accept that statement to process the online registration. However, as we do now, we will continue to make exceptions for any special circumstance as necessary.

What if someone loses their confirmation page?

The confirmation page is available to print at the time of registration. It is also emailed to the registrant as an adobe .pdf file that can be saved on the hard drive. If the form is lost, a duplicate can be provided by logging onto www.usahockeyregistration.com.

What do I do next?

To register on-line, log onto www.usahockeyregistration.com.  You may also click on the same logo at the top of this page as well. Once on this web page, click on the link Ice Players & Coaches.

Once you have finished the process, you will receive a confirmation email from USA Hockey.   Alliance Players are required to forward their confirming email from USA Hockey to the Alliance registrar at registrar@alliancehockey.org to complete the registration process.
