The opening period saw the Bulldogs come out with tremendous energy that resulted in an early lead in shots on goal.   Several tripping penalties saw the momentum shift to the Penguins, but neither team scored until the Bulldogs took a 1-0 advantage late in the period. The 2^nd period began with the Bulldogs 2^nd goal, but they continued to draw penalties that allowed the Penguins to take the offensive and come within a goal at the 5 minute mark.   A late 2^nd period goal by the Bulldogs was erased seconds later and the period ended 3-2 favoring the Dog’s.   Another penalty opened the way for the Penguins tying the score at 3-3, five minutes into the 3^rd period. The Dog’s regrouped and scored the final two goals of the game for a 5-3 victory and revenge for the earlier defeat.   Overall it was a solid effort for the boys in a game marked by lot’s of hitting, too many penalties and clutch shooting. Solid play at net was also evidenced by the Bulldog’s being outshot 41-28, yet coming out with a two goal victory.    

The Labor Day weekend proved a great start for the Bulldogs with 3 victories in 4 tries.   Congratulations to the players, coaches and parents for their dedication to the sport.
